I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Trafalgar Residence (Toronto, ON) in Jun 2020
Interview
Easy, one interview and done. If you've worked as a Addictions counselor before, much of your skills and exp are transferable. Depending on the interviewer, you may have a comfortable experience but others will try their best to see how you react under stressful circumstances.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Trafalgar Residence (Toronto, ON)
Interview
Very informal. Described the responsibilities and process. Asked questions about skills, behavioural questions, risk assessments, ability to manage groups. I had a phone call initially and was invited for an interview. The day of the interview, I was called to come into the office early for the interview, if possible. I was told I would hear back from them by the end of the week. Never heard back.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a difficult client for you. Is there any population that you might be less inclined/not want to/avoid working with? Why. What are your therapeutic approaches? Situation: You're running a group and one member, who has BPD, speaks about their current suicidal ideation. How do you respond?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Trafalgar Residence (Toronto, ON) in Nov 2015
Interview
I did an initial phone interview with one of the two owners. He invited me in for an in person interview scheduled for a few days later. The interview then had the two owners and myself. It was fairly informal we mostly just talked to see if my personality fit with the company culture. There were the average questions as to why you want to work there, what are your skills, etc..
