I applied for the role in August 2025, and had my LinkedIn profile visited shortly by the newly hired Head of Workplace Technology.
I had my interviews for the role only at the end of September and beginning of October. First interview was with the TA, second with the 3rd Line Infrastructure and IAM Team Members and last one with the Head of Workplace Technology, who had moved to Trainline, after +20 of working in a company with a global presence.
I really enjoyed with second interview, with Infrastructure and IAM Team Members, which was quite technical, but, with good IT skills and experience, manageable. Their feedback to TA, for me for proceeding to the next stage of the interview process was very quick and positive.
Last interview seemed fine, up to a point, when, after revealing to the Head of Workplace Technology a security risk with one of the apps installed on the Windows workstations fleet, her attitude seemed to have changed somehow.
I was later notified that I was no longer considered for the role.
One month later, after checking the LinkedIn company profile, I had the surprise of finding out that the person hired for the role at Trainline, used to work with the newly hired Head of Workplace Technology, in her old company.
This is a shameful waste of time of competent candidates, who applied for the role, but had no actual personal connections with the Hiring Manager.
