Internal employee referral for a new role that had opened up. My process was that I met with the leader of the local office for 15 minutes in person and then had a phone screen the following day. We did a ride along a week later with a member of their team and was able to sit in on a meeting. They had an obsession with asking about comfort with cold-calling throughout the process.
Two weeks later I traveled down for a personality test followed by a 30 minute conversation with the local executive about the role and his experience. The next day I was able to join a panel interview with the recruiter, an executive and representative for their training system. Up until this meeting I’d had a great experience interviewing for this role. It was a very uncomfortable interview because the executive took adversarial approach to the conversation.
After three weeks of no news despite reaching back multiple times they finally gave me a phone call back to tell me that they were moving ahead with someone else because “we don’t think you’d have discipline for cold calls.” Overall it a very long, drawn out interview process and they’d warned me that there would two more weeks of other tests before they’d consider making an offer.
