HR contacts you via email or LinkedIn, schedules a phone interview, then face to face. I was personally messaged on LinkedIn by a recruiter and did not specifically hunt for this job. I interviewed first by the Manager who I would be reporting to and then the HR recruiter. Had to to an Excel test and then was shown the benefits package. After following up I found out that they were "torn" between me and another candidate and ultimately chose someone else. I was called back a few months later as they had created a new position of the same title and kept my resume on file, I thought it was a done deal. I had to do another phone interview this time with a different HR person, go in for another face-to-face interview with the same person and then manager above the interviewer. I am not sure what happened between the first time and the second time but I saw the job posted again after my interview so that tells me I didn't get it. An email advising so would have been nice. It is unfortunate as I was excited about the company, they do seem to care about their employees.
