Asked for minimum GPA and a good resume with a good cover letter. Got called in with a joint interview. The defining factor was how well the cover letter was written. People who simply copy/pasted a template were almost immediately rejected.

The interview was pretty standard. First was a quick phone interview, and then an invitation to an in person interview. I met with the PI of the study, and we discussed future goals

I went through a phone interview and then called in for in person interviews while tested on my communiation skills and writing skills. I was tested on my verbal skills and asked how I would handle certain situations with clients.
