As a member of San Diego Supercomputer Center, act as a Systems Administrator for UNIX systems (mainly Linux and Solaris). Provide hardware troubleshooting, operating system maintenance, and hardware and software support for UNIX server and desktop customers. Analyze, specify, design and execute solutions and procedures to address a variety of problems and tasks in areas of UNIX infrastructure. Perform light programming/debugging and systems analysis tasks, testing and benchmarks. Work with very complex and advanced systems and networks in a troubleshooting and performance evaluation environment. Contribute to educational and outreach efforts of SDSC by developing and delivering training, consulting, or seminars for the SDSC user community. Provide advanced technical guidance to others at the same or lower level on an ongoing basis.
