I applied online. I interviewed at UC San Diego in Nov 2022
Interview
It was very low-stress compared to other jobs, particularly because this was for a student position. I am unsure how it went for me personally though, since I have not yet received their decision, and I think it is really competitive. Many students are always looking for lab positions, so I'm not sure where I stand in this.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked what I was most interested in, as this was a psychology lab, so they wanted to know what particular areas of psychology I care about. It was for a mental health lab, so of course they want to know what my interest in mental health is.
I applied through university. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at UC San Diego (La Jolla, CA) in Jan 2011
Interview
The interview process was quite brief. They took me to a seated area next to the elevators and began asking about my experiences at UC San Diego, the classes that I took, why I wanted to be a lab assistant, and asked a majority of behavioral questions. After the interview, I didn't get a response until 6 months later, which was kind of odd. I'm assuming they initially hired the first person they interviewed and needed an additional lab assistant a couple of months after that and decided to hire me.
