I saw a posting on the USPS website for temporary holiday work, so I applied online. I received an email asking to schedule an "interview" shortly after. Basically, they will hire anyone, provided you pass their background and drug test. They even asked if I had any friends who wanted to do it because they were short on people. As soon as I arrived, I started filling out paperwork. Then, I talked with an employee who basically explained the job and asked if I had any questions. There was no formal interview. At the end of the first meeting, they took my fingerprints and said they would email me about the drug test and basically that they will hire me if the background check turns out ok. I had to go do the drug test at a local clinic, and a few days later they called me to come back in for final processing, which was just filling out some more paperwork and signing the employment offer. I worked at the Kent, Washington PMA, but had to go to the Seattle P&DC three times for the two interviews, and once for orientation/training the Saturday before I started.
