Appointment board interview.
The interview consists of senior board members asking various questions determining fitness for USPHS. The interview was conducted over the phone and at times a little hard to hear when overlapping talking was present, but common. Overall questions were very straightforward and interview lasted about 15 min.

Be prepared to answer why you chose USPHS, what you think qualities of a leader are, and give a personal leadership example. There are also scenario-based questions asking to describe a time you had to make a decision under pressure, how you will handle being deployed and are you aware of the commitment.
