Two things stuck out to me about my interview process- the first was the group interview did not provide the respect that I am a working professional. I know it makes their lives easier, but there was not respect for me having a current job for an all-day interview process which is just one of many steps. Especially since, in my case, I was away for business during the one interview window. The second aspect that stood out to me, the lack of work-life balance. As a working mother, I asked questions about how leaders engaged with work-life balance since the expectation is 12 hrs a day at work. I have a sneaking suspicion this question was a point against me in the process. At no point, did I doubt my ability to accomplish the goals or do the job, but I wanted to understand how a potential workplace could be contributing to my whole life.

The process only took two weeks, but it was intense. Phone interview, data analysis task, full day interview with 4 network leaders, final task, then offer. The full day interview was actually kind of cool. You spend an hour with each leader debriefing a task or scenario. Spend a couple hours alone on ops related tasks. Take a school tour. It really gives you an opportunity to make an informed decision on whether or not you’d be happy there.
