      Intern Interview

      19 Jan 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at United Nations in Nov 2016

      Interview

After applying through their website I had not heard anything back for about 2 months until I received an email from the head of the office inviting me to a phone interview. The interviewed was separated in two "phases", the first was basically to get to know me and my experience in general (cultural awareness, team work, etc). The second was more technical, what software I knew, work experience, etc. In total, the interview lasted for about 40 minutes. I would not say that the interviewer made me feel comfortable and that the interview was easy, as I have seen in other posts at this website. But I would say the interview was neutral. A normal interview, not good or bad.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They asked A LOT of questions. Some were very specific, some more general. One that was a bit out of context was related to how I would tackle some problems (I cannot remember which ones exactly they mentioned, but they were related to politics and governments as well).
