I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at University College London (London, England) in Feb 2025
Interview
Start with an Online application (CV, cover letter) and then shortlisted for panel interview (mine was online). I had to do a 5-10 min presentation on my previous research, and then there were questions based on that and then general competency Qs. They made a decision by the end of the day.
Questions are tailored to research area you are applying to, such as techniques. Other questions included UCL policies on diversity & inclusion.
Casual chat on zoom, very friendly. They replied to my application promptly and told me the result the very next day via phone call which was good of them, despite it being to tell me I was unsuccessful.

Candidates should expect a thoughtful, structured process with a strong focus on analytical thinking, coding, and values-driven collaboration.
