The interview for the PhD candidacy was rigorous and involved substantial technical content, there were questions on my Mathematical knowledge, prior Mathematical studies, and my drive and motivation to embark on advanced doctoral research in this field
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Time series analysis, methods to assess convergence
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at University of Reading
Interview
The process was for a studentship (funded PhD). I had 5 female panelists, which was rather intimidating. I applied online and heard back within 14 days. The interview lasted around 30 mins and consisted of questions mainly focused to my proposal. It was difficult to answer as I was spoken over at times and they spoke over each other. I am assuming I was not offered a place as I never heard back.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
How will your findings shape theories? (my research proposed grounded theory so more difficult to answer)
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at University of Reading (Reading, England) in Jan 2016
Interview
Online interview first and then in person. There was separate interview with the funding body. Was given an offer to Uni first and the funding letter was sent separately
