HR contacted me through email,HR asked my expectations on salary to which I asked how much are they paying for the Full Stack developer role to which HR didn't disclosed their salary range,since she didn't disclosed, I said I expect 10.5 base pay and my current base was 7 moreover by coincidence I also added that I don't join companies who pay in 3-5 lpa range to Full Stack developers,to which she said that won't be an issue, She gave me assignment to build a seat booking app, I built that using react.js. After that there was a direct one-on-one discussion with CEO of company. He asked to optimise the seat booking app which I had built for the assignment,I optimised the app while discussing my approach,I answered all questions,Ceo asked my expectations I told him that I expect 10.5, I was hoping to get counter offer but ceo said that after deciding internally hr will get back,I was waiting for salary negotiation round instead I got rejection mail which just said that we have decided to move in a different direction. After I contacted HR, after some discussion I was able to make her accept that they were not able to afford me.
The company wasted my entire week's time. SHE COULD HAVE SAID BEFORE THE PROCESS THAT THEY PAY IN 3-5 LPA RANGE WHEN I SAID I DON'T JOIN FOR 3-5 LPA. But instead she made me build the app for them and wanted my entire week.This was really unprofessional from Dare2compete, after 3 days I got an offer of 12.2 Ctc from a much better organization though.
MARKET HAS CHANGED YOU CAN'T PAY A SALARY OF 5LPA OR 6LPA TO A FULL STACK DEVELOPER whether a fresher or experienced, companies need to understand this and cope up with the changing market.Any CTC below 8-10 CTC range for a full Stack developer is a disgrace to the job title.
