I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Vans (Honolulu, HI) in Aug 2015
Interview
I applied online and dropped off my resume in person a few days later. I called the store to check on my application and the assistant manager called me in for an interview.
The initial interview was for a sales associate position. I didn't feel like it was an interview but more of an introduction to the company and just telling the asst. manager about myself. I felt that all went well and really liked how the A.M. was describing working for the company. He said he'd talk to the store manager and he'd call me in a few days to hopefully set up a second interview to try out for the floor supervisor position.
The interview for the floor supervisor had a lot of questions trying to understand my previous work experience and my responsibilities. This interview seems very focus on what I can do for the company in terms of sales. How do I make/keep sales high? How do I typically approach customers and make sales?

Question 1
Tell me about yourself and your work history and responsibilities.
Say you are in charge of 4 or 5 people for the day and need to make x amount in sales goals. You are behind on sales. How do you get your team on the right track to reach the sales goal?
It wasn’t anything crazy. They just ask you what your knowledge on the company is and why you wanna work there, your job experience it is pretty simple. Yup yup
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Vans (Charlotte, NC) in May 2024
Interview
Very simple, it is easier to get manager positions if you are already within the company or if you started as a sales associate and/or sales lead. Be confident and ready to answer any questions regarding your strengths and weaknesses, give examples of times where you've used your strengths to help other associates They are very focused on sales and KPI's so it's good to bring up how you will bring new ideas to the management team that can help the store excel.
