      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Varsity Tutors (North Atlanta, GA) in Oct 2015

      Interview

I went through one very brief phone interview, followed by two Skype interviews that led me to believe I was actually moving on in the process. Then I was told that I would find out whether or not I advanced to the 4th round of interviews by the end of the week. Today I received a "form letter" email stating that out of the 100s of applicants for the position, they'd determined that my qualifications were not a good match. I really wish they let you know earlier in the process that you were competing with 100s of applicants and that getting to a 2nd or 3rd round of interviewing is essentially meaningless. Additionally, they really didn't ask me any questions of substance, so I'm guessing that hiring is based on a general opinion about personality gleaned from these levels of 15 minute interviews.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Varsity Tutors

      Interview

First a phone interview for initial background screening, then a Skype interview to talk about the specifics of the job, then a third interview to discuss compensation and benefits. The interview process moved very quickly once I submitted my application. The discussions of the job and the specifics entailed did not match the tone given in the job listing.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Varsity Tutors (Las Vegas, NV) in Nov 2015

      Interview

The hiring process was seamless. Varsity Tutors was very thorough in their interviews. I enjoyed preparing for the interviews. I grew to greatly appreciate the company while researching the Varsity Tutors mission. There are free Varsity Tutors mobile apps that apply to every subject area and every national test. I go to the app every day and choose the 'question of the day'. It is like playing Jeopardy! This company can be an asset to every person who utilizes its resources. Wow, and now I am honored to be a part of the Varsity Tutors team! So, on to the interview. There were three. The first was a phone interview, followed by two Skype interviews. The last interview was with the VP of the company. I was quite excited to speak with the VT company VP. I think it is a good policy to have the VP interview prospective employees. This is a way to recruit employees who are aligned with the company goals. This is a 'work-from-home' position. It is a 40 hour work week. There are full benefits that apply after being with the company for 30 days.Ten paid holidays per year are an added benefit. And yes, your birthday is considered a holiday at VT! There is plenty of room to advance within the company. The company CEO developed the company in 2007 at Wash U. (I went and toured the Wash U med school, when I was planning to become an MD.) This is a great company; I am honored to be a part of the team and am looking forward to training and Summit!
