I applied online. I interviewed at Varsity Tutors in Aug 2024
Interview
Very simple, almost TOO simple. They ask you for some basic ID information, then send you a link to record a video interview. They never even asked for a resume, which is very strange.

Question 1
They asked me to present a 10-min. mini lesson. Not hard to do and it seemed to go well. But after less than 2 days they rejected my application and refused another interview. Given that I'm well-qualified to tutor what I told them I could do, and have degrees from 3 top universities, this is very puzzling. Suspect this company needs to be investigated for age discrimination and people like me need to complain about this.
You are sent a link to an online video interview. They ask you about previous tutoring experience and the last question was asking you to do a mock-tutoring session. It's very awkward because you have to make up what you want to teach on the spot, but you get unlimited time to think of responses.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Varsity Tutors (University Park, MD) in Aug 2025
Interview
AI Interview, very easy. Asked very basic question's regarding experience, motivation, etc. I’m a freshman student in UMD and so I haven’t been to many job interviews, but this was genuinely easy.
