Went through 4 rounds of interviews (about 1 hour each) over the course of around 3 weeks. - 1st was a General Phone-screen with HR Rep - 2nd was a Technical Assessment with a Lead Developer - 3rd was another Technical Assessment with the Lead Architect - 4th was a Cultural Fit interview with the Hiring Manager/Team Lead Excellent feedback at every step, with each interviewer (including the Hiring Manager) indicating I was through to the next phase. Was told 6 days after the final interview that the team was still being set up, and that they cannot continue with the hiring process. Very frustrating as I was told at the start that it was a position that was both active and that they were actively recruiting for. At no point in the process was it mentioned this was a prospective or unapproved role. Given this was a Senior role, quite a lot of time was spent researching the company, problem-domain, technologies involved, etc. Very disappointed that all of that has gone to waste, especially given how good a fit it was, and the extremely positive feedback given at each step. They did offer to stay in contact for other roles that may appear, but not sure I'd be happy to continue given how they misrepresented the availability of this role.
