I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Verizon (Miami, FL) in Jan 2012
Interview
MY interview experience will definitely be different than others as I worked for Verizon franchise. I walked into the store and applied in person. I didn't hear back from the manger in a week so i returned to ask the status of my application. He told me he liked that I followed up and that he would schedule an interview with the owner of the franchise.
I came back about 3 days later and was interviewed by the CFO/General Manager of the franchise.
The next day interview by the Franchise owner and immediately hired. Started work the following week.
Overall my process took about 2 weeks as it was a franchise store and not corporate. I know for sure at a corporate store it can be a minimum of 2-4 weeks for the total hiring process.

Interview
There were three parts to my hiring process. 1. The recruiter called me and asked me questions. 2. I spoke to the Assistant Manager. They asked me standard questions and we role-played a standard sale. 3. I did an in-person interview with the General Manager. We also did a role-play as well. BE PREPARED FOR THAT.
