      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Verkada (San Mateo, CA) in Nov 2023

      Interview

Phone screen with recruiter--very basic, asked softball questions. Then she scheduled an interview phone interview with a Sales Director. Literally the only thing he he asked was, "what questions do you have about Verkada?" I was moved forward with onsite interview with three sales directors a few weeks later. All of them were late and though each interview was scheduled for 30 minutes I think the longest went maybe 15 because of their tardiness. Of the three, only one person was engaged in any way. One of the three was with the same director I did a phone screen with. The only question he asked me again--you guessed it--"What questions do you have about Verkada"? At the conclusion of the interview, I asked the recruiter what the next steps were, and she said she'd schedule a final round with SVPs in a few weeks. I asked if that was confirmed for sure or if she needed the feedback from the team--she said it was definitely confirmed. After that(which was a month ago), I've heard nothing--I've never experienced getting ghosted like that this deep into an interview process. I reached out to the recruiter via three different methods multiple times--nothing. It is the same with those sales leaders I interviewed with. I have multiple friends that work there so I eventually got one of them to find out they had passed on me, but to this day they have never bothered to tell me that.

      Interview

Poor experience with an inexperienced "leader" who felt the need she had to talk at me as apposed to engaging in a conversation. She had been moved over from the US and felt the need to dominate each part of the conversation, give a response and then feedback completely differently to the recruiter. The questions that were asked were basic and didn't have a chance to answer them properly. I'm pretty sure she was driving during the interview and/or distracted with something else.

The interview process was efficient, timely, and very insightful. The onsite interviews were very welcoming and everyone went above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable and confident throughout the process. With each interview and interviewer I met, I became more intrigued and more interested in the role. The recruiter was AMAZING as well! Very helpful with interview prep and hospitality through the process.
