I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Viator (London, England) in Apr 2025
Interview
I want to share my experience with Gavin from TripAdvisor so that future candidates know what to expect.
I heard back about a month after applying. The recruiter missed our first interview, then rescheduled but canceled again at the last minute. We finally managed to start the process on the third attempt.
The interview had three stages, with reasonable technical questions. I felt the interviews went well. After the final round, I was told the next day that they were impressed and that they are preparing an offer which will come next week sharing the benefits. Next week they contacted me claiming there is a delay due to people being out of office. After following up a few, I was suddenly told they wouldn’t proceed with an offer the week after — citing suddenly negative feedback from my first interview that took place over a month earlier.
This kind of turnaround was surprising and disappointing. Overall, it probably felt the most unprofessional recruitment experience I’ve ever had.

We were disheartened to hear about your less than stellar interview experience and appreciate your feedback and candor. We strive to have all candidates receive communications and a positive interview experience, and unfortunately we didn't meet your or our expectations. We have reviewed this internally and regret that it was an internal error and oversight.
Please be assured that we are reviewing our procedures to ensure that this does not happen again, and that all candidates receive the timely feedback they deserve.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us and we wish you all the best in your future career endeavors.
Standard ML interview with coding and ML questions.
My review of the interview process is trash since I went through the full loop twice in the span of two years - each time I was ghosted. Do the decency of providing at least a rejection email/final response after a candidate has put in so much effort. Also the final interview was unprofessional with the hiring manager asking specific old recommendation algorithms while rejecting other valid answers and being quite rude.
