I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Victoria's Secret (Troy, MI) in Mar 2010
Interview
Group interviews are harder because they look to see who answers the most questions, who is the perkiest, etc. Very simple, easy sales questions and pitches. The interview makes the job seem more difficult than it really is. They want perky, happy salespeople to reach goals. Handling difficult customers with ease is a plus. They warn you about "Shrink" (losses to the store) and scenarios on how to handle them.
Hiring managers prioritize your personality, availability, and customer service mindset, looking for candidates who are friendly, adaptable, reliable, and comfortable engaging with customers, rather than focusing heavily on prior experience or technical skills.
Very easy, first a phone call then meeting in person. Took a while to be seen in person even after the scheduled meeting time, they had me just kind of stand in a corner for a while waiting for someone to become available.
