      Senior Automation Engineer Interview

      9 Oct 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Vivino in Oct 2020

      Interview

Applied online and got a mail reply from head of QA for a screening interview call. The process included of 3 rounds: 1. Screening 2. Assignment 3. Technical interview First round was taken by head of QA where asked about the normal questions about the overall experience , skillsets daily job routine. After the first round call, next day got a mail for completing an assignment which asked: Building an automation framework using Appium, Ruby and cucumber from scratch for their Android app There were various General requirements like: Page object model , cucumber BDD approach , good ruby coding skills and should pass the ruby cop filter There also were Test requirements like: All tests should pass , should involve scroll , swipe etc, Attach report execution also Project should be submitted in Github. Completed the project which was pretty time consuming and required quite an effort. Third round was a google meet call which was technical interview taken by 2 people in which one was simply sitting there and did not utter a word. I believe he was for writing the feedback. This round felt not like an interview but like interrogation where in interviewer(who seemed to be conceited) started without introducing himself and just started throwing one by one a huge list of questions covering almost all the aspects of testing manual to automation. That guy would ask and while I am answering will move on to next question having wry smile, this was so much stressing felt like I should drop off in between. There were about 25+ questions and I gave correct answers to most of them(~90%) . Then he asked me to solve a coding problem online. I solved it in about 10 mins, that he was not satisfied and only wanted the solution which he is expecting. Five hours past the third round got a mail from the head of QA that they are not proceeding further , I did ask for the feedback and she said they found mismatch in skills in 3-4 questions. I mean for an interview which includes 25+ questions they are expecting the person to answer all of them and also correctly to what they want to hear. I spent around 2 weeks for this whole process and felt cheated and exhausted in the end. Will suggest job seekers to be aware of this whole process and should spend their valuable efforts finding a job in company where the interviews are not so robotic and should be like a natural conversation based assessment.

      Senior Automation Engineer Interview

      9 Sept 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Copenhagen, Capital Region
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Vivino (Copenhagen, Capital Region) in Sept 2020

      Interview

The process is composed by three phases. 1) Screening Interview 2) Technical assignment to create a test automation project using ruby/appium/cucumber for vivino app 3)Technical interview with two QAs. It will mostly be 1h 30 of more than 30 technical questions follow by writing code and screen sharing It seems that the interviewer on step 3 never took a look at the project you delivered on step 2. Questions like if you know git, or how to write a framework, or if you know appium/ruby are simply ridiculous. Out of 30 questions, maybe only 5 are actually valid considering that the project you built cannot answer. Most required you knowing ruby language documentation by heart, which seems to be very important at the company(?!) The interviews never felt like a natural conversation, instead, felt simply like going through a list of items and questions. It was ice-cold and extremely serious. The interviewer sounded arrogant when asking questions , I kinda wonder how the daily work with someone like that might be. My final feeling was that the whole process was very time/energy demanding for the very poor benefits they actually offer. The "amazing" culture that they try to sell is not what will be paying your bills at the end of the month (not even wine discounts)
