      Program Associate Interview

      14 Jun 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at WASH Advocates

      Interview

I was referred by a former supervisor who has connections to WASH Advocates, so that's how I got the interview after they received my resume and cover letter. The first interview was on the phone with the current Program Associate -- very nice, asked simple introductory questions, asked why I was interested in the position. The next day I did an online writing test for them. A few days later I was called back for an in-office interview with the whole WASH Advocates team of about five people. It was not intimidating at all, and they were laidback and friendly. There were not any surprise questions. The hardest thing to explain was why I was interested in an entry level job, since I had much more experience than the job required. In the end I didn't get the job because I was overqualified, they said, even though I would have taken it and worked for the salary they proposed. If I could have done anything differently, I would have stressed more that I really wanted this job even though it was entry level.
