Was contacted by HR. There were 2 telephonic interviews with senior engineers from San Jose, they were excellent interviews, the interviewers were very polite. The first interview was an in-depth discussion about synchronization mechanisms for threads. In particular, we discussed two problems: (i) the lost wakeup problem and how associating a mutex with a condition variable solved it. (ii) the thundering herd problem. The second one was more to do with storage and file systems. In particular, we discussed snapshot implementations. There were also about 4 in-person interviews in Bangalore. These were the usual technical interviews, nothing to write home about - except for one in which the interviewer was more interested in C programming puzzles.
