I had an interview with the recruiter which seemed very pleasant then I was scheduled for an interview with the hiring manager. And that’s where I regretted ever even considering applying there. This person had absolutely no tact whatsoever, he was very rude, mean, making irrelevant comments, interrupted me all the time and didn’t give me a single chance to finish a sentence even once. But that’s not the biggest problem. The thing is that most questions he was asking were not about me, they were about the product that I had experience building that he was very interested in. He was asking me a lot of technical details about how to implement certain features or how this or that worked. Silly me thought I was having a job interview but this person just used me in order to get information for himself. He also was late very late (and didn’t apologise for that) and the meeting took very long because he wanted to know as much as possible about that product that he “also wants to build” so he was like “we are running out of time but it’s ok i don’t have any other meetings after we can stay longer”. He didn’t even ask if I could stay longer. (I couldn’t, I had another call). Then closer he started asking me about my salary expectations, which I found weird because we already had this discussion with the recruiter. He started trying to negotiate me down bargaining like he was at a flee market or smth. I found it very disgraceful and not worthy of person of his position. This whole conversation left a very bad aftertaste, I felt very abused and disrespected. Last but not least, they never came back to me with a status update after this torturous interview :) i had to reached out to the recruiter twice(!) to get an update only to get “oh please email person x for that information”. This is so terrible that I can’t even believe it is real but it is. It happened. I regret very much applying there and going through this very upsetting and humiliating experience for absolutely no reason. Complete waste of time, energy and space.
