I applied in-person. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at West Virginia State Treasurer (Charleston, WV) in Mar 2012
Interview
Very informal. Application and appointment for interview. The application itself is lengthy as they require extensive background investigation and drug screening. The procedures manual as well as the orientation is tedious, but not at all bad. The initial process begins with an application and a trip to Charleston to speak to a Deputy Treasurer. Again, the process is informal, but still evaluative in terms of conversational interviews. The questions are typically about background, goals, and description of the work one will perform while working.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They ask conversational interview questions and typically the standard "What can you bring to us?" type.
