The process was very long with poor results. I was told I was the best of 3 candidates but was not a slam dunk. The feedback I received from the recruiter was, due to me wishing the hiring manager (Director, HR) a happy Friday and saying TGIF, she felt I was most interested in the day being Friday than the interview. The hiring manager also felt that I was bashing my current organization when I shared that I did not agree with my organization's approach to handling COVID and certain decisions did not align with my personal values. The recruiter also shared that the hiring manager referred me to another position and that the hiring manager was not a dynamic leader due to her nitpicking feedback. All in all, this was not a positive experience. I was provided no objective feedback on why I was not selected for the role. The interview left me feeling, was this due to me being a BIPOC.
