      Translational Scientist Interview

      29 May 2026
      Anonymous employee
      Paris
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at WhiteLab Genomics (Paris) in Oct 2023

      Interview

A very informative process that quickly gave me a clear picture of the team dynamics across departments, internal cohesion, and WhiteLab Genomics' culture. The practical scenarios proposed by some managers were particularly helpful in understanding the concrete expectations of the role. One minor downside: having to introduce yourself to each manager individually gets a little repetitive over time. Overall, a well-designed process that builds confidence and reduces stress. It's a true reflection of a supportive culture.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The hiring manager presents a project and asks you to think through the scientific approach to adopt, and then present your thoughts. It's potentially daunting on paper, but in practice it's much closer to a collaborative brainstorm. There are no trick questions and it's an open exchange. The objective is clearly to assess scientific reasoning rather than fixed knowledge. It's a refreshing approach and representative of the working culture.
