I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Whitepages (Budapest) in Dec 2014
Interview
The process consisted 5 rounds:
1. - Coding "arrayhopper" algorithm on hackerrank in 4 hours
2. - Technical interview about experience, knowledge and skills with basic algorithmic coding
3. - Face-to-face interview with a colleague from the US
4. - Skype interview with another colleague from the US
5. - Full day task while spending 1-1 hours with 6 members of Budapest crew
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
In round 5 the task was quite frontend specific so experience with javascript and javascript libraries would have granted a huge advantage (while being unexperienced in that meant a huge drawback).
The task was not complex, it didn't require any particular algorithmic thinking.
Diverse preference of the hourly changing "observer" colleagues on how the task should be solved was a bit confusing. Most of them were helpful, although there were some with a quite negative attitude.
Since we discussed in round 2 that I hadn't have much experience on frontend and JS, I believe they should have warned me at least before round 5 to look through JS as almost no other knowledge was required to finish the task in time.
