I interviewed at Willowick Residential (Houston, TX)
Interview
Three step process at three different levels. Manager and board included. It was a great process. I feel I did well. I made it to the last step in the process.
I applied online. I interviewed at Willowick Residential (Los Angeles, CA) in Feb 2023
Interview
The initial interview with recruiting was conducted by phone and I must say the interviewer was very thorough. The recruiter asked questions as it related to the position and she displayed proper understanding and knowledge of on-site property management and how a team could handle day to day operations. She felt (in her words) I would be effective and considered my skills relevant for the role in question and passed my resume along to on-site management. I was given a date and time to meet with the PM for our in person interview. This property is a lease up (under construction) so the in person interview wasn’t at the actual property. I arrived on- time and was greeted by the team. They were all very enthusiastic, up-beat and warm. The PM was unable to meet me so I was interviewed by another staff member who was professionally aware of how a luxury property should be run, specifically a lease up, informed me on company culture, company standards and where they were in the construction phase. The interviewer asked important questions about my skills and how it relates to meeting goals of the new property. I answered all the questions professionally and the interviewer had me wait to speak with the PM who was on an important call or zoom. We greeted one another, continued to talk about my experience and wrapped the interview up within 15 minutes after I had been there for about an hour. I thought it went well, I sent a follow- up email to express interest in working together, didn’t receive a response from the PM. I sent a second follow up email and the recruiter emailed to let me know they moved forward with another candidate. But to check back on the website for future updates. It’s been about a month so I decided to check, the position hasn’t been filled, also the PM position is currently available, as well as several other positions are recently open and available. I am certain that my skills are adequate for multiple roles, I’m not sure why I didn’t receive a follow- up or job offer as my skills are a match. Not sure why just about all the staff is leaving or gone before the property opened. Overall the interview process started well, lease ups tend to need leaders who are innovative, knowledgeable and willing to work. A supportive team and lots of patience, as well as upper management who is proactive in helping with needs and listiening to staff on the ground. I hope they find a great team that works well. Organization and diligence are key.
