Originally applied via the website and was contacted by HR. I had an initial phone screen with HR and that same day I was contacted by the hiring manager for a brief phone conversation . Both phone conversations were pretty standard and easy. I was asked questions regarding my background and experience.
From there, I was brought in for an onsite with the supply chain manager and I believe a sr. buyer. Both asked more in depth questions regarding my background and explained more about the position. They seemed to like my background in SAP and interest in process improvement. At the end of the interview the manager kept stressing ”fit” that they were looking for the right fit for his team. To me, that was my que he didn't want me; a female person of color, as his team lacked any kind of diversity and from what I could tell, there was a lack diversity in the building....period.
Not surprising, but I had to follow up with HR 3 times to get an update. He then stated ”I was just about to email you” (over a week later) which was clearly a lie. But in any case, they gave the position to another candidate who I'm assuming was a white male, like themselves.
Luckily I had other offers on the table.
