The first step is the resume and answering some specific questions with your application. Then, a phone call. They initially posted this position with a range of $80,000-$95,000 and then lowered it to $70,000-$80,000.
I applied online. I interviewed at Youth Collaboratory (Pittsburgh, PA) in Apr 2021
Interview
I've applied to 4 of their positions. The first one I was a finalist for, but it took forever in that process. Months! They were constantly behind their timelines of informing me about next rounds, by weeks. When is check in they'd act pissed off or annoyed. During that final round it was clear the hiring manager hadn't read my resume. So frustrating. I mentioned previous city I lived, worked, and graduated from my master's and she was like "no way, really, you lived in that city." Uh, yea, that is all over my resume and cover letter.
The application process for all positions is long and hard because they want a resume, cover letter, and two essay questions.
The other 3 positions I was totally qualified for but was ghosted. On the second one I got a screening call from HR and it was super easy/basic questions that I did well on. Never heard back. I followed up and they basically said they'd get back and never did. Their HR sent an email with an annoyed tone.
The other 2 positions, I've never heard about. Three of the 4 positions I applied to are still just sitting on their website unfilled....for months! Like, what is going on? Also I noticed that old positions are getting reposted. These are all pretty big red flags to me. It's also just rude to never reply to candidates that put in that much time and effort into your application process. We deserve at least an email update.
For an organization the needs to scale up as dramatically as they do you'd think they'd invest in better recruiting and more HR folks to get people hired and onboard in an appropriate amount of time...or adjust their expectations of qualified candidates for their pay scales. A part of me thinks they are sitting around waiting for this ideal candidate to come along and at their pay rates it's just not going to happen. If this is their reason for the delay then they really need to rethink their BEDI practices!!
Went through the phone interview but was not invited to the next round of interviews. Asked basic questions about previous experience and talked a bit about goals and plans. Very nice people, but took several months to work through this process and were not responsive when asking for an update.
