Spoke with a Sourcer for 45 minutes. I was an early, long-tenured employee at a well-respected AV company. The Sourcer was complimentary of my experience and responses to her questions. She closed out the call by eagerly saying the next step would either be a 30 min HM call or straight to onsite panel. This was *not* a borderline, uncertain "let me check with the HM before confirming next steps" when recruiters aren't sure. I received a generic rejection email the next day. Normally I would have just moved on with my life, but I was extremely perplexed by this given the tone of the recruiter screen. I asked the Sourcer if this was possibly sent in error and never heard back. I understand that some parts of the interview process just need to remain somewhat opaque to candidates...who knows what could have happened. Either way, I think the Sourcer’s poor execution of communicating next steps and then ghosting has left me with a less positive impression of Zoox being disorganized and unkind.
