Interview process consisted of three stages: an initial phone screening followed by a first and second interview.
Phone stage: a general conversation with one of the internal recruiters. Consisted of a few basic questions around my current role and what it entailed, what salary/job roles I was looking for, what my notice period was etc.. I was thanked for my time and was informed if I was successful I would receive a call-back for an interview (luckily I was invited back).
First stage: arranged an interview for the following week. This stage was a 1 hour interview with two senior members of the team. In the interview they asked me to elaborate about my experience-to-date, including a run through of my CV. They then proceeded to ask me a series of questions relating to my experience, throwing the odd competency-based question as a curve ball. From memory it was a tough interview - the interviewers were pleasant but also quite stern so it was difficult to gauge how I was getting on. At the end they informed me that they had a few other interviews scheduled that week but would get back to me with some feedback in a few days.
A few days later I received a call back saying that they wanted me back in for a second and final interview with the Head of the Division and another senior member of the team. Was thankful to hear as at the time I thought my initial interview wasn't that great!! I arranged a second interview for a few days after.
Second interview: arrived on the second time and waited in the reception area for the interviewers. In the meantime, one of the recruiters I had been dealing with came out of her way to see me and introduced herself. At the time I remember how impressed I was by this; it's rare for a company to be so personal during the interview stage. Soon after I went into the interview ...was a tale of two halves - first half with the head of division being tough and a bit of a grilling, whilst the second with the other senior member was more relaxed. Again we spoke about experience but went into more specific detail, with a few more questions aimed at gauging my personalty and how I work (guessing they were seeing whether I was the right fit for the team). The interview actually overran and the room had another interview booked for straight after, so for a good 20 minutes after the interview we continued the conversation in the reception area. I came out the interview feeling pretty good - I was given the opportunity to ask loads of questions and was made to feel very wanted throughout (which is a big draw for any job seeker).
A day later I received a call and got an offer - was very happy/relieved!
I was lucky enough to pass through all the stages and was very happy to be offered a job role at the end.
Thanks so much for taking the time to leave your great review. We love to have a more personal approach, so I am glad that was felt at your interview. Welcome to Zopa!
