Started with Online interview with Team Lead to gauge interest and compatibility. followed by in person interview with management and three team members to focus on skills and value add. Offer was received the following day via email.
The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Zurple (Carlsbad, CA) in Jan 2019
Interview
Phone screen and then interviewed on site. Interview on site lasted almost 2.5 hours. Title of job did not reflect what they were asking for. If they wanted a recruiter, they should have put that they were looking for a recruiter and not HR Coordinator. I thought things went well but I never received any feedback on the interview.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Zurple in May 2014
Interview
Applied through LinkedIn - surprisingly got contacted by the CEO.
In the initial phone call the CEO was upfront letting me know the interview process was deliberate.
(4 hours Group Interviews)
I was invited for an onsite interview. It was a set of 2 Group Interviews:
1. The first one was with a senior member from their Analytics and Infrastructure Teams. The questions were mostly related to my past experiences. One thing that tripped me up was my experience was mainly weighted towards working with B2B products - how would I transition to B2C products.
2. The second group interview was with their CTO and CEO. Again focus was on past experiences - they asked me to walk through a past Project end-end my contribution as a Product Manager. I felt I did well and made a connection with both of them.
(2 hour 1:1 Interview)
I was asked to comeback for another Interview this time with their Founder. The Interview went really well - they asked me to go over Product Development Process end-end. I thought the two-hour interview was super productive and was upbeat at the end of it.
(5 hours 1:1 Interviews)
After a couple of weeks I was again invited for another set of Interview this time again with the CEO and CTO. The CEO encouraged me to think outside the box but was unusually vague with the questions. The Interview with CTO was long and deliberate - we did discuss a real problem that Zurple was currently facing. I think I did start out strong but was little bit annoyed by the end because there was no sign that the Interviewer had real goals for the Interview.
So by this time, Zurple had Interviewed me for a total of 11.5 hours.
After a week, the CEO informed me by email with an one-liner stating that Zurple was going to pursue other candidates for the job.
Although I was disappointed with the outcome - I was expecting a better feedback from ZUrple especially after spending over 11 hours Interviewing them. So I asked the CEO for a lunch meeting to get more feedback - they agreed to meet. They cancelled the lunch meetings at the last minute couple of times after which I simply gave up.
