I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at athenahealth (Austin, TX) in Oct 2015
Interview
Met with a recruiter at their booth at my University's career fair. An on-site interview at my school was set up for the very next day. First interview went well. It was a multi-step "case study" involving blocks and how to use code to manipulate the blocks. I used general code/psuedo-code on paper to show the interviewer how I went about solving the problem. Asked me if I had any questions for him regarding the company. Very friendly and laid back. Talked me through things if I got stuck.
A week later I got an e-mail from them setting up a second interview at their Austin facility. I was told to book a flight and hotel for 4 days from the day that I received the e-mail.This is the only part of the process I didn't like. Not much help was given at all to try and make the booking of the hotel/flight easier on me.
Nonetheless, the interview at their facility went well. They are located in a a great part of town that is apparently still growing rapidly. The people there were friendly. The first five minutes, they showed me around the facility. Next, there was a technical interview for about an hour or so. I was able to bring my own laptop loaded with the IDE that I was most comfortable. Lastly, I spoke to one of the higher-ups in a behavioral interview where we talked about my background/experience. I asked a bunch of questions regarding the company and what direction it was heading in. Very informative and open discussion with him.
I had attended the live coding round. i couldnt remember but it involved array. i get rejected. But it was quite easy for anyone who already aced or practicing leetcode

Interview
Rd1: Recruiter
Rd2: HM Interview - 30m
Rd3: Coding Interview - 90m
Rd4: 2x 90m Coding Interview, 1 Behavioral (Virtual Onsite)
To put it in one sentence, Athenahealth’s interview process is significantly flawed and out of touch. Expect 4.5-6 HOURS of rigorous coding round interviews where you must complete fully optimized working solutions. There’s no care for how, or why you solved the problem. Just get every test case passing, and you’ve got a job. It’s clear this company is more keen on hiring a leetcoder, rather than trying to identify real talent. Other than the HM interview, no other opportunities are given to meet your potential coworkers. Expect to hop on a call with a stone wall of an interviewer, and have no intro’s or icebreaker. This was probably the biggest red flag of all.
Do better athenahealth..

Interview
I had a 15-minute recruiter phone screen, followed by a scheduled call with the hiring manager. During the call, the hiring manager was dismissive and repeatedly tried to downplay the achievements listed on my résumé. She was rude and kept challenging everything I said, trying to make it seem like my accomplishments were insignificant. I never received any feedback from either the recruiter or the hiring manager, they simply ghosted me. Overall, it was a terrible hiring experience.
