The expectations for their candidates seem to align with the many “burnout” reviews on the company review page. Extremely long programming test that is not appropriate as a candidate skill gauge.
The initial phone interviews are pleasant and exactly what you would expect. They ask about your previous experience and your interest in the company (30min calls). However, their programming test is more of a project than a coding challenge to gauge prospective employees. The coding test requires you to write entire pipelines, complete with a workflow management system, data download, processing, analysis, visualizations, database queries, a README file, and packaged all with docker. You get 48hrs to complete it. I chose not to move forward with the interview process after receiving that coding challenge as well as reading the reviews here. This experience seemed like a good representation of how much they value their employee’s time and work-life balance.
