I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at eBay in Nov 2011
Interview
Started out by applying online to a posting. Had a phone screen and 1:1 meeting with the HR recruiter who setup the initial phone interview with the hiring manager. 1 hour call with the hiring manager lead to onsite interviews with the manager and the position's peers within the organization. The interview questions dealt with how I would address issues related to the position, opportunties for personal improvement, career accomplishments and challenges, and management style. The people were very nice and personable, though one guy seemed to need a change in scenery. He has a long tenue with the company (10 years) but seems to be burned out from the body language and demeanor. They were pretty quick with the feedback so I did hear back after about a week or so.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at eBay (San Jose, CA) in Dec 2020
Interview
Good focus on company culture, experience-based questions, position-relevant skills. Organized and on time. Good use of video to bridge the gap during covid-19. Fast follow up from HR. Initial offer was low but they came up to meet market

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at eBay (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
Very easy, streamlined process. The onsite interview is the key, with typically 5-6 interviewers probing you on past experience, functional experience, fit and culture. If successful, you will interview with a VP or SVP for the final round.

Question 1
The most interesting question I faced was about the difference between technology and consumer brands. This took us into a very animated and insightful half-hour discussion.
I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at eBay
Interview
Too many people, too many questions with less than desirable focus on the field of employment. Great answers to all your questions, and it was clear how mutant the work environment would be.
