      Underwriter Interview

      28 Jul 2012
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at eStabilized in Apr 2009

      Interview

As an underwriter, you have to answer directly to the CEO, she can be a pain in the ass Mrs. Phillips. However, the pay is good, the job is fairly easy. All you have to do is stick to the company guidelines when reviewing applications. They train so that is good, so even if you are not too versed on underwriting, once you have a bachelors in business admin, then you will be ok. They use an intra network a very in depth technical team of 4 men - MIT graduates of the same year. I think they are all friends too. Ben, Stephan, Joel and Frank. All four are from Rochester.

      Question 1

My interview was rocky. Mrs. Phillips has an intense look and she is reverred throughout the company. She sticks to company policy and anyone that goes against it gets fired. They mostly want to know that you do not have a police record and you have a bachelors in business admin to become an underwriter. Experience helps.
