      Engineer Interview

      1 Feb 2011
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Gosforth, North West England, England
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at eaga (Gosforth, North West England, England) in Jan 2011

      Interview

After an interview arranged by a UK Recruiter for a set date and time of which both HR had clearly agreed to on a email for all to see, I was contact a week earlier by the Technical Manager who sound some what anxious over the phone after leaving two messages. Recruiter contacted HR who tried to deny it was their fault, after some diplomacy from the recruiter I was contacted again by the same person who this time seemed to ignore anything about the confusion over the interview dates ( I thought this may have been the ice breaker but not to him), Ok by the way he had rushed into the interview process, I was soon beginning to realize that I would be reporting to a "wooden top". I was conferenced into a call with a Technical person who asked me a number of technical questions, some of which sounded as though he was reading of prepared sheet for an Avaya Technical exam and of which at the same point I asked him that I can hear a person typing into keyboard in the background and this was over powering my concentration, I was told yes its me I am typing your answers into a spread sheet, this therefore made me feel that I was dealing with "Wooden Top" number two here. I was told by the Technical head that I would have to fix faults within a completely unachievable time period of nine minutes since this was their inter-departmental SLA , which made me feel uneasy since, I know that this is ridiculous and is not achievable and anyone wanting to work here would be in a unhealthy environment.
