Initial phone interview with hiring manager. Really nice person who sold the company and role really well through her genuine passions for it. Second stage was a face to face interview with a technical task in Salesforce. Again really nice and welcoming, and made the process very relaxed. Last stage was a face to face panel interview. Everyone was welcoming and gave a great account of the company, its future and what was expected from the role. It was a great fit for me, my skills and my creative requirements. The CMO even expressed a keen desire to have a follow up call with me to learn a bit more as he was unable to attend the full interview.
Unfortunately I had to wait 2 weeks to get a decision which seemed to make no sense. I received no call from the CMO. I was told I had a great balance of technical and creative skills perfect for the role, yet was unsuccessful. I found out couple of days ago that they’re still recruiting for the role as I’d been approached by two recruiters on the same day.
Seems their decision not to hire me was down to personal reasons about me as I’d proven I was more than capable of taking the role to the next level. Yet they’d refused to give any feedback to help me improve for the future. Instead I received an automated email saying ‘thanks, but no thanks’. Considering this process had taken 5 weeks, 3 interviews and 2 days of hard earned annual leave, I found this to be incredibly disrespectful and a bit of a kick in the teeth.
Such high hopes for this opportunity and employer but I’m just left wondering what went wrong.
