I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at rebuy (Berlin)
Interview
Pretty time consuming and disappointing. The hiring processs includes a case study that is already the challenge for the only data scientist working there and I assume they are looking for free solutions rather than hiring someone. Although I had no time for a case study, they insisted on the necessity of it and I finally decided to take the time and work on it. After sending over my solution, I got invited to another interview about the case study, and we further discussed it in details. It's been a month now and I haven't heard back from them. I never followed up since I already had other offers but for such time consuming process, I expect at least a detailed feedback from the hiring team.

Interview
My interview experience with the potential hiring manager was less than ideal. While it started off friendly, it quickly turned into a string of theoretical questions that seemed more suited for a classroom than a discussion about my past experiences and skills. There was little focus on my practical experience and responsibilities.
The interviewer gradually turned unfriendly and somewhat condescending, making the conversation uncomfortable, especially when not satisfied with my answers or when I didn’t know something. Towards the end of the interview, it became obvious that he had already made the decision to reject me and was just going through the motions impatiently because he had to. It seems that for this role, memorizing theoretical concepts is more valued than practical, business experience or problem-solving abilities.
Overall, I would advise candidates to prepare extensively for theoretical questions if they wish to succeed in this interview process. However, I would advise against pursuing this role with this company if you value working with supportive and inspiring supervisors. The interviewer's demeanour suggested a lack of tolerance for mistakes. Additionally, the lack of empathy and poor communication skills displayed by him raised concerns about the company's choices and values when it comes to leadership roles. Finally, it may be beneficial for the company to provide interview training to their employees to improve their conduct during interviews and to learn how to create a comfortable environment for candidates.
