I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at the LEGO Group (London, England) in Jun 2022
Interview
The process was 3 interviews
- First one with the head of engineering and it was an informal chat about the company, background and personal fit to the role.
- Second one was to review a technical task I had to do previously. It was conducted by two members of the team in which I was gonna be working with. Questions about the technical tasks and they gave me the opportunity to ask as many questions I wanted about the company and team dynamics.
- Third and final with the Head of Engineering again and with a Project manager. It was half behavioural interview and a few technical questions but mostly to check if the company and I were a good fit for both parts.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
- Describe a situation in which you had to confront other team members ideas and how you managed that.
- How would you put a member of the team whom is inexperienced up to speed, which tools would you consider ideal to do that.
- Other similar behavioural questions....
- Regarding the tech test I could not say, It was more analysing the approach I decided to take. It was never confrontational or tense, more about why I decided to go one way or another and at the end which improvements I would have made had I have more time to do it.
The process begins with submitting an application, after which qualified candidates are contacted and invited to attend an in-person interview conducted at the specific store location where the final hiring decision will ultimately be made
When I had my interview the process started with an initial call with recruiter, then call with Engineering Manager where you get a take home project, then another call to discuss decisions made in your take project and finally a behavioural.

Interview
Booring . As a former Lego employee (part time), if the interview calls for it, be sure to bring up your passion for the brand. Themes you like, how you build, a set you desire. Most of your time will be wandering the sales floor answering questions and interacting with customers. I guarantee the manager is looking for someone who knows the stuff on the shelves and is personally invested in it.
