Smart Move Snapshot
The brains behind Smart Move hope customers will see genius in its approach to moving household possessions. The Smart Move system centers on the SmartVault, a hard plastic container with 262 cu. ft. of space. Smart Move brings empty SmartVaults to your old house, lets you pack them, and then transports the containers to your new house. The actual hauling of the SmartVault is handled through parent company and transportation services firm Atlas World Group, which acquired Smart Move in June 2009. Smart Move offers its services from more than 60 major metropolitan areas in the US. The SmartVaults -- equipped with GPS units so they can be tracked -- are designed to fit into trailers along with other freight.
