Based on my and my teams` experiences, the list of cons are too big and convoluted to lay out here, but I have tried to organize it best I can.
Leadership
• 3 CEO's in my 2.5 years
• Completely disconnected from everything and seems like they just always tried to patch things up quickly but never address the real issues and don’t listen to the people who are doing the work.
Benefits
• What benefits? No community opportunities, health insurance is expensive with insane deductible, no 401k match.
• Switched our HR software and lost all of our perks.
• No pay bands and no pay increases since there are no performance reviews. No rhyme or reason to salary.
• No job descriptions, which is wild. I had 5 titles in 2 and a half years and never once had a job description or clear role. 2 of those roles lasted 30 days or less.
• No career advancement or educational opportunities.
Culture
• Constant negativity from every angle and incredibly toxic. Everyone is so exhausted from the constant change, turnover, new processes every month, and lack of transparency that nobody trusts each other.
• There really is no culture. No mission or vision to guide the business. No team building. Morale was super low all the time. If I had to define the culture I would say it’s, selfishness, because everyone seems to be out for themselves and doesn’t want to work together for a common goal.
Anecdotes
• The communication is awful, if not nonexistent. When people are let go, there is no communication about it. New acquisitions are often a surprise. Changes in leadership are not communicated down.
• Buys smaller companies on promises of delivering things they don’t have the resources to deliver. Always spending money on acquisitions and never on their people.
• Everyone I know that has left or been let go was relieved to finally be out of there.
Overall, this is a terrible place to work and I would not recommend it to anyone.
