Agile, but Late to Make the Needed Changes

5 Stars when I left, 2 prior to that. Most of the people were great - passionate and hardworking Nice office After early 2011, the VP Eng took over development from the founding CTO and things improved, then in late 2011, things got substantially better when they promoted a new CEO. Once this was done, they listened to employees, implemented many of the ideas, and morale improved

Founding CTO - EGO city! Couldn't execute. You literally need to be in his "clique" to get any respect and the clique changed all the time. He was also notorious for saying "YES" to anything potential customers (and some customers) asked for and then would miss. CEO couldn't lead or make decisions and when he did, too often backed the CTO, which meant chaos. They preached transparency, but founders were not forthcoming with much information - most times they tell people when they are forced due to rumor or having no other choice. Claimed to have a strategy and plan for growing and focusing the company - but reality is that it changes so frequently, randomly and without true research and strategic thinking Claimed they put everything on the table and spoke honestly with everyone - nothing could be further from the truth - most discussions with the CTO were lies right to your face Founders didn't have the skillset to make the change from Agency to Software Management should have taken a huge step back and do some self reflection on every aspect of the business before it was too late. Changes at the top should have taken place much sooner.
