Poorly Managed Company with a Soul-Sucking Culture

Pros

Casual dress code, flexible work hours, a handful of cool, smart people

Cons

If you are experienced, creative, or work to a high standard, don’t bother sending your resume. However, if you like working in a dungeon (it’s basically windowless), staff complacency and not growing in your career, AC Lens might be the perfect fit. Accountability doesn’t matter, you’re free to miss deadlines, and if you use enough corporate buzzwords in a meeting, you might not even have to meet the basic expectations of your job. While there are some amazing people (you know who you are), much of the management team has been there for a decade or more doing the same things over and over. It was often speculated that some of them may have achieved their positions due to pity or favoritism. It’s evident that qualifications, interpersonal skills and talent don’t matter. In fact, many of the decision makers leave inept or aggressive people in positions of power. Fun! But be warned, if you decide to accept a job at AC Lens, beware of certain department heads you go to in confidence. Nothing you tell them is a secret.

Cons

-Overworked -Grossly underpaid according to Columbus area average -Underappreciated (showing gratitude to you seems to be against company policy) -Disorganized Management -Given responsibilities that should be carried out by a different department(s) -Departments seem to be brushed under the rug and forgotten about -Favorites are given better tasks and much leniency -Encouraged to ask for help but told that there is nothing they can do about it when asking -Suggestions outside of management are ignored or brushed aside
