Pros

good people in middle levels, ability to work remote

Cons

Since RateGain acquired the company for a fire sale price in 2023, conditions have gotten steadily worse for technical teams. The company saves a lot in office costs by having all US employees work remote, but never has in-person meetings for non-management to build teamwork/share ideas. I did not see a single colleague in person in my last 2 years with the company. Meanwhile, leadership makes 1-2 trips a year across the globe to India, where they likely discuss how to cut costs to make up for their expensive trips. There is a huge amount of siloing across teams, with each technical team not really knowing what the others are working on. In parallel to this, some very knowledgeable employees have left in the past year and others have been pushed out after them. For a company that brags about the value of its data, people with knowledge of the data are not valued at all. RateGain’s acquisition has led to a belt-tightening of many financial areas. The previous quarterly bonus program that employees valued was switched to an annual, and very positive annual reviews are accompanied by meager salary increases. “Promotions” lead to raises that look more like modest rewards for a good review. The recent acquisition of Sojern will likely bring more competition for higher level jobs and even more downward pressure on wages/benefits, especially since Sojern was acquired for a much higher price than Adara. Sales teams are heavily favored by management over all others since the departure of one of the cofounders in late 2023, with company meetings sometimes literally consisting of individual sales team members giving their battle stories. If profit/revenue growth falls short of targets, blame is given to mid-level technical staff, rather than trying to find ways for teams to work better together.
