Pros

1. If you have not got Reliability Experience this is a good way to gain some to allow you to get a better job. 2. Its kind of relaxed but not really. 3. Great co-workers. There is a good group of Engineers that work here that you can have a laugh with.

Cons

Where do I start...... in the short time I have been here I have seen some stuff go down. 1. Do not trust management (2 people in particular) they will lie to your face about anything and everything. 2. Pay rises... you mean pay decreases, lets just say they are less than CPI 3. Unpaid travel time, they expect you to travel in your own time. 4. Get everything in email 100% of the time and even then they do not read their emails. Its almost pointless having conversations with management, they do not listen or remember what you tell them. 5. If you quit (within a time period) they will make you pay back your relocation costs. Be careful here, if you move for this job and they pay and you get sick of them after 9 months they will make you pay it back . 6. Culture, I have heard good stories of what it used to be like, its not like that any more. It all about 100% billable hours. 7. Do not even think about getting a promotion. This company does not believe in personal development. 8. Do you like golf? Ignore number 7, you can get a promotions if you like golf. 9. Being talked down to... happens too often. 10. New rules every week. Management just make up new rules every week depending on how they feel and how close they are to reaching budget.

Pros

I worked for ARMS for 3 years and loved it. I worked both in America and Australia. The people are top-notch and management is engaged and supportive. They are continually improving processes both internally and for clients. If you are looking for technical challenges and travel as a consultant then I cannot think of a better company in the reliability space to work for.

Cons

This is a consulting company and travel is required for most roles. That eventually became a problem for my family situation but even then, the ARMS' work process allows for a good percentage of billable time to be spent locally analyzing data, building initial simulation models, finalizing reports etc. Darren, Jason and the Austin team work hard to help their consultants maintain a sustainable work schedule.

Pros

Nice office Decent enough coworkers. Very flexible work environment

Cons

1. I can't give specific examples in this review for fear of retaliation. They have pressured us to give good reviews and pulled several employees in for questioning when bad reviews are posted. 2. Coercion is a standard tactic used by management. Whether its to give good reviews, bill extra, work late or whatever else. There is the increadibly "great" and pc company line and then there is the list of unwritten rules. 3. Favoritism for those that kiss up is rampant. If you fall out of favor you get assigned data entry work. (So you better praise the emperor even if he has no clothes) 4. Generally cut throat in pursuit for profit. Have even ordered employees to take vacation or unpaid time off if they couldn't bill work.
